Keeping a race car on the black stuff at the track is a balancing act, i.e the correct balance and smoothness of pedal useage and the correct amount of weight on each tyre that is in contact with the tarmac. This is important if you want the best performance from your race car.

Just imagine a 4-legged chair with unequal length legs!

We use and recommend
DBA Rotors

Road & Race Performance has been using DBA Rotors on their own race cars, i.e. BMW M3R and a number of HSV Commodores for many years as well as all their personal road cars, and cannot fault the product.

We also recommend and use them on our customer’s track and street cars with confidence.

Brake Bedding Procedure

This procedure is more critical for race pads than street-only pads.

The DBA Discs and Brake pads need to be put through a few heat cycles to burn off resins in the brake pad material and also to build a transfer layer on the surface of the disc.

Whenever you go onto a racetrack, the first lap is used to build up temperature in the pad and disc so they can work correctly.

Same applies for the final slow-down lap - cool brakes down by minimal use before you stop in the pits.
